Ghoulitaire Godot 4 Revamp Started
Hey there, everyone! I've been working on a little update for this game for a few weeks now.
I've been meaning to update this prototype to Godot 4 for easily over a year now, but haven't had the time. I technically still don't have the time, haha, but that's besides the point. You can see in the video I've attached some of the progress I've made in the brand new project. The color palette will change, it's just so I don't have to worry about design issues for now.
The card sprites are from Kenney's Assets, which you can find here! Awesome resource by the way, I suggest digging through all of Kenney's stuff! I'm planning to use their cards as a base for the placement of suits / ranks, but will be modifying the design of the cards pretty significantly later on. I'll definitely be changing the colors first, and then the back of the cards will be changed to have some silly ghosts on them. Not sure how many changes I want to make to the actual lettering or icons, but I'll have to experiment and see. :]
In the video you can see that I've gotten drag and drop working for single cards in the tableau so far. I forgot to show it here but the draw pile lets you cycle through the draw cards, it just needs to be set up with the drag and drop (it doesn't remove the card from the draw pile at the moment, haha). My next plan is to get the draw pile drag and drop working, then the build piles, and then I'll worry about dragging and dropping for multiple cards - I don't think it'll be too hard, though.
Anyway, that's it, really! I just wanted to make a little post showing the progress at the moment. Not sure how much time I'll have to work on it, so I can't promise when I'll have another update or release the next version of this project, but just know that Ghoulitaire still lives rent free in my head. :>
